Snap strings

Production

A string is struck using a finger-snap technique. The second finger is pressed against the thumb and then suddenly released. The nail of the second finger actually hits the string.

Notation

Since the resulting pitch is only vaguely distinguishable, a square-shaped notehead should be used to indicate what strings are "snapped". This notation must be paired with a verbal indication such as snap string.
