Production

The harpist holds his/her hand open and horizontal and slides the four fingers and the thumb slowly and repeatedly across the strings.

Sound

A slow cluster glissando creates a sound cluster of slow, multiple glissandi.

Notation

A slow cluster glissando is notated with an interval, an arrow and a repeated arpeggio sign. The arrow shows the direction of the glissando. Beginning and end notes are normally not played, the interval merely shows the span of the sliding fingers.
